aN autobiography

In high school, I had three main artistic endeavors.
1. From 2013-2017, I was in a band I formed with my best friends called 'Not Our Best Idea,' where I wrote music, played bass, and sang. Music is still an integral part of my expression.
2. In 2016, I began working on films as a production designer in El Camino Real Charter High School's Careers in Entertainment Academy on a short film titled 'Crescendo' directed by my friend, Eric Abell. I've been in love with learning more about the art department ever since!
3. In 2017, creative writing became my greatest method of expression. I dabble still, and tap into it whenever I can.
I then studied Cinema at San Francisco State University, where I continued to educate and practice the craft of production design and art directing. I also developed a connection with experimental filmmaking and gender theory. In 2019 began production on a collection of experimental films based on the phases of matter I call 'Productions in Enthalpy'.
I am now freelancing as an art assistant, set dresser, and production designer for projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. Like Audrey Mika's Fake Heartbreak music video by Burned Negative, The Lake Merritt Monter by Benjamin Mulholland, and the screen-sharing chat app Squad.
Looking forward to many more! The best place to reach me is baileymaatita@gmail.com.
I have always been expressing myself artistically! Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, filmmaking was always around the corner. I started drawing when I was younger than I can remember - horses were my muse. Soon after I started dancing. I began acting at Golden Performing Arts Center in kindergarten, where I was scouted by a talent agent. Following this, I lent my voice to an animated show on PBS called Mixed Nutz and acted in a short film called Phlegm, by Destri Martino, and I caught the filmmaking bug.
